Purpose:We evaluated the cost-effectiveness of celecoxib and its generic equivalents for primary care use in the United States.
Method:We reviewed the data for celecoxib (20 mg, 50 mg, 100 mg, 200 mg and 400 mg) and its generic equivalents (10 mg, 20 mg, 40 mg, 50 mg, 100 mg, and 200 mg) in the United States. We used a cost-effectiveness analysis and the cost of the first 2 versions of the drugs to compare their cost-effectiveness.
Results:We evaluated the cost-effectiveness of celecoxib in the United States, comparing the incremental costs of 20 mg and the 50 mg, and the incremental costs of the same 2 versions of the drugs for the overall cost-effectiveness of celecoxib in adults. The incremental costs of celecoxib compared to the 2 versions of the drugs included the following: cost of the 1-mg dose (ie, cost of celecoxib) and the 1-mg dose plus 2 grams of celecoxib cost (ie, cost of celecoxib plus 2 grams of celecoxib). The incremental cost of the 2 versions of the drugs included the following: the cost of the 2-mg dose plus 2 grams of celecoxib cost (ie, cost of celecoxib plus 2 grams of celecoxib), the cost of the 1-mg dose plus 2 grams of celecoxib, the cost of celecoxib plus 2 grams of celecoxib, the cost of celecoxib plus 2 grams of celecoxib and the cost of celecoxib plus 2 grams of celecoxib. The incremental costs of celecoxib compared to the 2 versions of the drugs included the following: the cost of celecoxib plus 2 grams of celecoxib plus 2 grams of celecoxib plus 2 grams of celecoxib plus 2 grams of celecoxib and the cost of celecoxib plus 2 grams of celecoxib plus 2 grams of celecoxib plus 2 grams of celecoxib plus 2 grams of celecoxib and the cost of celecoxib plus 2 grams of celecoxib plus 2 grams of celecoxib.
Conclusion:The incremental cost-effectiveness ratios of celecoxib and its generic equivalent compared to the 2 versions of the drugs were approximately 30% greater, which is in line with the results of a recent randomized trial of Celebrex in adults.
Celecoxib is not available in the United States, but can be obtained through generic pharmacies, which have more cost-effective generic equivalents (see Pharmacologic Equivalents, "Celebrex"). We assessed the cost-effectiveness of celecoxib for primary care use in the United States. We analyzed the incremental cost-effectiveness ratios of celecoxib compared to the 2 versions of the drugs. The incremental cost-effectiveness ratios of celecoxib compared to the 2 versions of the drugs were approximately 30% greater, which is in line with the results of a recent randomized trial of Celebrex in adults.
The relative cost effectiveness of celecoxib compared to the 2 versions of the drugs was estimated to be approximately 30% higher compared to the cost effectiveness of celecoxib in adults. The incremental cost effectiveness ratios of celecoxib compared to the 2 versions of the drugs were approximately 30% higher, which is in line with the results of a recent randomized trial of Celebrex in adults. The relative cost effectiveness ratios of celecoxib compared to the 2 versions of the drugs were approximately 30% higher, which is in line with the results of a recent randomized trial of Celebrex in adults.
Table: Celecoxib vs. Generic EquivalentsEach study included 1,162 patients. The primary outcome was the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) defined as the incremental cost-ijuana or incremental cost-lower than or equal to the incremental cost-benefit ratio. The secondary outcomes included incremental costs, costs, benefits, and patient satisfaction. The incremental cost-effectiveness ratios were compared to a cost-ijuana cost ratio of 2% (ICER = 2.00) or 2.25% (ICER = 2.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will update safety and efficacy studies of Celebrex, a prescription medication that helps prevent heart attacks and strokes. Celebrex (celecoxib) is a medication developed by Merck & Co., the world’s largest pharmaceutical company and a pioneer in the field of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and approved for more than 40 years for the relief of pain, inflammation, and joint pain. The drug, approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1995, was also used for other conditions, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute pain, and in acute and chronic rheumatoid arthritis, as well as in non-serious forms of acute pain and inflammation. The brand’s release date was June 20, 1997. Celecoxib has proven to be highly effective in treating many of these conditions. One of the main reasons for this is its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier and the fact that it is considered safe for patients to take it.
Celebrex is also used for the management of rheumatoid arthritis. It is approved for the management of the condition in adults and children. Celebrex has also been used in the treatment of chronic pain. Celebrex is available in several forms (oral, transdermal, transdermal, and injected) and for the treatment of pain and inflammation in the form of a topical cream or gel.
Celebrex is also a very safe medicine and is considered to be safe in many parts of the world. It is not addictive, does not cause a withdrawal syndrome, and is very well tolerated by most patients. However, there are some patients who will not tolerate it. The drug should not be used in the following:
It is important to take it exactly as your doctor prescribes. Do not take the pill with a meal that contains calcium or other dairy products, or with other medications that can increase the risk of stomach bleeding.

Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor and pharmacist your medical history, especially if you have any kidney disease, asthma, liver disease, high or low blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, or are taking other medicines. Your doctor will discuss with you the risks and benefits of taking Celebrex.
It is important to tell your doctor about all other medicines you use, including herbal supplements and vitamins, as well as any herbal products that you buy without a prescription.
